Malaysian QR codes
Tungsten AP Essentials can interpret QR codes on Malaysian invoices. A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode containing information. For the purposes of this topic, we refer to the QR code found on a Malaysian document as a "Malaysian QR code". A Malaysian QR code contains a URL that points to online information about the invoice. AP Essentials extracts the URL from the QR code, and it extracts the universal unique ID from the URL. Both values are mapped to fields according to the following table.
Value from Malaysian QR code | Field type name in AP Essentials |
---|---|
URL | InvoiceQRUrl |
Universal unique ID parameter in the URL | UniversalUniqueIdentifier |
When a Malaysian QR code is extracted, the extracted information must adhere to the QR code specification. If a field passes validation, its status is set to complete (). If a field does not validate according to the specification, the fields are left empty. Validations are not performed on the fields after extraction in AP Essentials Office. In other words, if you change the field values in AP Essentials Office, there is no warning if they are invalid.
