Specifying a substitute

If you use workflow services, and you are absent from work, you can choose an alternate user to handle documents in workflows that would otherwise be assigned to you. When this setting is empty, nothing happens. When you specify substitute, the substitute user replaces the current user in all workflows until you change this setting to empty again.

To specify a substitute:

  1. Click your username in the main menu at the top of the page.
  2. In the menu that appears, click My profile.
  3. Use the dialog that appears to specify a substitute.

    When selecting a substitute, an icon () appears next to users who have an active substitute. In other words, users with the icon are most likely absent themselves and not good candidates for selection as a substitute.

    Be sure to empty the substitute setting when you return to work.
