Preview features

Sometimes new features are released on a preview basis. This means the feature is available to try out, but it might contain limited functionality, and some aspects of the feature might change before it is released systemwide. Preview features are not always released to all Kofax AP Essentials users at once. Sometimes, they are selectively enabled on only a fraction of all accounts, while other times, a preview feature can be restricted to a single customer. Releasing features on a preview basis is helpful to users and Kofax AP Essentials development because it gives users a chance to test drive new features and provide vital feedback which can improve the feature before it is finalized and released to all users. All preview features are displayed at the root level in Admin Center. Preview features must be enabled on the partner level by Kofax personnel before they can be enabled for child organizations. Preview features can be public or private.

  • Public - Public preview features are available and visible to all partners on the Account view.

  • Private - Private preview features are only visible to Kofax personnel regardless of where they are enabled.

Administrators can see which preview features are available in the Account view of partners and customers. However, preview features are not displayed at the group levels (partner group or customer group). Administrators with the Manage accounts privilege can enable and disable preview features on child accounts. Preview features must be enabled on the partner level before they are available to child customer accounts.
