Enabling PGP for the SFTP target system
SFTP transfers files via a secure, encrypted connection; however, after file transfer is complete, the files are unencrypted on the destination system. If this is a problem for you, the SFTP target system service can encrypt the ZIP files it sends to the target system using Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) encryption. This provides an additional level of security because files remain encrypted on the target system after they are transferred. To enable PGP for the SFTP target system service:
-
Upload your PGP
public key
to the
Resources view in ASC or PUB format.
You do not need to click to enable the resource.
- In the SFTP target system settings, select Zip files before sending. You can only use PGP in combination with this setting.
- In the PGP public key setting, select the file that you uploaded to the Resources view.
-
Click
OK and save your settings.
From this point forward, output ZIP files are encrypted using PGP. To turn off PGP encryption, empty the PGP public key setting.
